Comes dangerously close to being very good many times over but unfortunately isn’t interested in any of the compelling ideas it throws in the air, instead opting for a wildly self conscious speed run attempt at being the first “good” FF movie.Looks better than most of these but still looks Like That far too often. Was nice that Marvel finally figured out how to let some character moments sit. Enjoyed those dynamics more than anything. Pedro Pascal and Vanessa Kirby are quite good here. Better than the film.  It’s fine.

As a comic book movie this isn’t self conscious at all and it’s certainly refreshing in its way. The insecurity is felt in the pacing, like Feige is in the background screaming “KEEP IT MOVING!!”, desperately trying to outrun this series’ reputation.

Anyhow, was nice to not hate a Marvel movie. Hadn’t seen one in theaters since No Way Home (awful), will likely be the last one I see.
