This was the only major John Woo film I’d never seen and I’m so glad I waited for the big screen. Unquestionably his masterpiece. Danny Lee’s cop being immediately horny for Chow Yun-Fat’s “empathetic eyes” is what dreams are made of. Melodramatic action perfection. That ending oscillating between the coolest shit I’d ever seen and just devastating heartbreak? Wow wow.
